Funeral services for Mrs. Quilla P. Hall will take place on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 1pm at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken with Dr. Rev. Fred Andrea officiating. Pallbearers will be Casey Kinard, Dennis Kinard, Lionel Smith, Jerry Hair, Walter Hall and Lester Hall. Interment will follow at Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, 6-8pm. Memorial donations may be directed to Aiken's First Baptist Church, 120 Chesterfield Street NW, Aiken, SC 29801. Mrs. Hall. 91, of Aiken, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. The daughter of the late Charlie Monroe Porter and Minnie G. Rouis Porter, she was born in Williston and had lived in Columbia prior to WWII when she and her husband moved to Ridgeville while he worked at the Charleston Navy Yard. After the war, they moved to Aiken in 1945. Before retiring in the late 1980's, Miss Quilla worked for Belk's Department Store for thirty-two years, at both the Downtown store and then the Kalmia Plaza store. While at the downtown store, she was voted "Salesperson of The Year" She was a member of Aiken's First Baptist Church, being a member of the Barbara Smith Sunday School class and the Round Table Missions Group. She loved to cook and bake and was known for often giving friends cakes that she lovingly made. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Perry Hall, and siblings, Norma Bolen, John Porter, Hubert Porter, Robert Porter, Pearle P. Givens and Connie Kinard. She is survived by her son, Wendell Eileen Hall, Aiken; a sister, Rena Hair, Williston and two grandchildren, Brian Stephanie Hall and Monica Travis Phillips.
