Mac and Holly, I again extend my condolences to you guys. I know you lost your Dad, not to long ago, and now your Mother. I'm so sorry. It's what we do as humans. We're all way to familiar with the process. I've lost a sister and a father in the last 18 months. Hang in there, Boe

We were saddened to hear about Mrs. McFerrin's passing. She and Mr. McFerrin were wonderful neighbors and surrogate grandparents for our children when we moved here. We loved them and will remember them fondly. Your family is in our prayers.

I was so sorry to hear about your mom's death. My mother used to always tell me how much she admired your mom. I remember she told me how much she loved your mom's macaroni and cheese recipe. Please know my thoughts are with you and your family during this time.

I am a 1991 Lander graduate and if I recall correctly, I was the first recipient of the Jean Tribble McFerrin scholarship. Mrs. McFerrin's generousity helped my family and me tremendously. I was fortunate enough to have spent time with Mrs. McFerrin over those years as a recipient of her scholarship. She was a kind and loving woman and I respected her greatly. I will always be appreciative of her and your family. My thoughts are with you for the loss of your mother, but I am also joyous in knowing Mrs. McFerrin is now at home with our Lord.

Holly, I don't know if you remember me from Aiken High but we attended school together. I had the opportunity to meet your Mom and Dad at Eden Gardens while visting Mother. They were both so delightful. Your mom was so attentive and loving to your Dad. Once your Dad died, Jean was never the same. They were a blessing to the other residents as well as family members. Ms. Jean would always speak to mother and tell me what an angel she was. My sisters and I came to love both of your parents in just a short time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

As a distant relative of Cecil & Jean McFerrin I always felt fortunate whenever someone would ask me if I was related to these fine individuals. Both of them were excellent examples of what we all should strive to be. Great leaders of their community and lives lived that should be an example for us all. Miss Jean will now continue her great works in God's kingdom.

It saddened me to read of Mrs. McFerrin's death. I met her while working at LensCrafters in Aiken from 2004-2006. I always had great conversations with her and I still have a letter she wrote to my manager about me and I will forever cherish it. We talked about Lander and cooking as well. She told me how she cooked with dill and I tried it because of her. My condolences are with her family and friends. I feel blessed to have met her.
