With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Barbara 72, on January 8, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center located at 211 Park Avenue, SW in Aiken, SC on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11am. Barbara, born in Montreal Canada, she was the second of three daughters born to Eleanor Marie Racine and John Ernest Schnick. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Peter Joseph Kruzner of Quebec Canada and sister, Margaret Anne Loretta Schnick Denis survived by James Denis both of whom she dearly loved. After marriage they moved to Tampa, FL and became US Citizens; finally settling in Aiken, SC. Barbara was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. After her husband Peter's passing, Barbara served as the secretary of the Saint Andrews School in Myrtle Beach, SC where she eventually retired & returned to Aiken, SC to live. The final two years of her life she was grateful for the loving care provided by Dr. Asheesh Lal and his staff at the Lexington Medical Center. Left to cherish her memory are her younger sister, Eleanor Louise Schnick Fillion Leszczack Bob Leszczack of Lakeland, FL; sons, Steven Peter Kruzner Margaret Ashmore Kruzner of Anderson, SC, Christopher John Walter Kruzner Melinda Parker Smith Kruzner of Chapin, SC, and Richard James Kruzner Donna Mundy Kruzner of Aiken. Also left to remember her are grandchildren, Tracie Starr Kruzner, David Alan Kruzner, Kyle Stuart Kruzner, Andrew James Kruzner, Savannah Katherine Kruzner, Alexander Parker Kruzner and Sean Christopher Kruzner & great grand-daughter, Talia Selina. The family will receive friends and family at the home of Richard & Donna Kruzner on Saturday, January 16, 2010 from 4 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Lexington Medical Center Foundation—Cancer Care Fund, 2720 Sunset Boulevard, West Columbia, SC 29169.
