Lottie Switlik Bruenn, 96, of Aiken, died Thursday, June 6, 2013. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, Aiken.
A daughter of the late Stanley and Pauline Wanda Symanska, Mrs. Bruenn was
born in Trenton, NJ in 1916. She graduated from Trenton Central High School.
Upon graduating from Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia, PA, she went to work for her father at Switlik Parachute Company in Trenton, NJ. She traveled to Canada and Brazil to set up parachute manufacturing facilities for World War II.
Mrs. Bruenn traveled extensively for business and pleasure. On a stop in Calcutta, India, she met Françoise Elter of Luxembourg. They married and had a daughter, Michelle Elter. Later as a resident of New York, she pursued painting, sketching and investing in the stock market. She enjoyed walking in the city and visiting museums.
Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Elter of Aiken and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bruenn was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Switlik, Sr. of Hightstown, NJ.
