William S Hyslop, 79, died of cancer at his home in Aiken, SC, on 30 Sept 2008. He was born June 30, 1929 in Pittsburgh, the elder son of William S and Augusta Shoemaker Hyslop. On March 20, 1951 he married Elizabeth "Betty" Perks of Bellefonte, who survives along with 3 daughters: Linda Larry Last of Northville, MI; Barbara Karahalios of Jacksonville, FL; Betsy Steve Bowyer of Santa Clara, CA. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Greg Cortney Last of MI; Katie Dane Roach of MN; Brian Karahalios of FL; Matt & Kevin Bowyer of CA, and his brother, Robert Hyslop, of Gwynedd, Pa, and a cousin, Mary A Shoemaker, of Bellefonte. Bill graduated from State College High School in 1947 and received his bachelor's in Industrial Engineering from Penn State in 1951. He worked in QC management before moving up to plant management in the electronics field. He was employed by Sylvania, Raytheon, and General Instrument and worked in Taiwan & Mexico,\=2 0in addition to several sites in the US. He was a 3rd degree member of Council #990, Knights of Columbus. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Oct 4, at 8:30 am at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Bellefonte with Father Neil R. Dadey officiating. Interment will follow in St John the Evangelist Catholic Church Cemetery in Bellefonte, PA
