AIKEN, SC- Richie Townsend Sanders, age 59 , passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015. Richie was born May 12, 1956 in Aiken, SC to the late Carl B. Sanders, Jr. and Cora Townsend Sanders. He was a life-long area resident and graduated from Aiken High School. Richie worked for SCE&G for many years and most recently was employed by Harley Davidson. He enjoyed fast cars, off roading, and his main enjoyment was riding his Harley. Richie is survived by his son Michael Sanders, New Ellenton, SC; a sister, Sara Frances Beaudoin (George), Aiken, SC; a niece, Brandy Victoria (Chris); a nephew, SSG. Kenneth Horres (Karin) and life-long friend, Michael Whittle. An informal memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2015 in the George Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. Guests are encouraged to ride their motorcycles. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Hale Foundation, 406 Walker St., Augusta, GA 30901.
