Funeral services for Mr. Charles Edward Pritchard, Sr. will be Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 2 pm at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Avenue, SW with Rev. Kenneth Weathers officiating. Interment will follow in Vaucluse Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, from 7 ? 9pm.
Mr. Pritchard, 74, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord Friday, February 24, 2006 at Johnston ? Willis Hospital, Richmond.
Mr. Pritchard was born in Mill Spring, NC to the late Jacob and Eva Shehan Pritchard. He was a former resident of Aiken before moving to Richmond, VA. Mr. Pritchard served in the US Air Force and retired from Defense General Supply Center as a computer operator. He was an accomplished Bluegrass banjo picker, appearing on television and in recordings through out the years in Richmond, VA and Augusta, GA. He was a devoted husband and father.
Mr. Pritchard was predeceased by his beloved mother-in-law Dorothy Mae Turner; brothers, Jesse Pritchard, Frank Pritchard and Forrest Pritchard; sister Nancy Williams. He is survived by his wife Lottie Turner Pritchard formerly of Vaucluse, SC; sons Charles Pam Pritchard Jr., Thomas Cindy Pritchard; daughters Jean Reese, and Eva Carla Pritchard; grandchildren, Nicole Pritchard, Tiffany Pritchard, Charles Pritchard, III, Jacob Pritchard, and Ethan Reese; brothers George Pritchard, and J.D. Pritchard; and sister Kay Gibbs.
