A memorial service for Mr. E.G. Donald Cole will be held Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 2 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, Aiken, SC, with Rev. Dr. Rodney K. Powell officiating. The family will greet friends following the memorial service at the Woodside Plantation Country Club. Mr. Cole, 89, of Aiken, SC, died Monday, morning, September 5, 2005 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers, Aiken, SC. Born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late George Albert and Elizabeth Henderson Cole, he had been a resident of Floral Park, NY, where he had twice been elected president of the Garden City Park -New Hyde Park School Board and retired from the H.J. Baker Company after forty-four years of service as an Expeditor. Mr. Cole had been a resident of Aiken, SC, since 1998 where he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and gardening. He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Eleanor Jeanette Bauer Cole, daughter, Virginia Castles, George Aiken, SC; son, Robert Cole, Wilda Floral Park, NY; sister, Muriel Van Auken, Frank Taylors, SC; sister-in-law, Barbara Cole, Aiken, SC; grandchildren, Martha Castles, Eric Castles, Marlene Cole, and Jeffery Cole; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 2724 Whiskey Rd., Aiken, SC 29803.
