I served with then CDR Fish as a Supply Corps Ensign on board USS White Plains in Yokosuka Japan. During the time we served together we spent more time at sea than in Home Port, worked hard but when appropriate took time to play. CAPT Fish was instrumental in shaping my career, including steering me to a follow on job as Navy Exchange Officer at the Supply Corps School in Athens Georgia. Please accept my condolences, he made a difference in many lives and will be missed.

From Iowa to Rhody, Aldrich High School,
On to Brown and the Navy, excellence the rule.
Wore the eagles with pride, Nancy there by his side,
Sharing their love regardless the tide.
Took their bliss down south to Gamecock Heaven
Where, suddenly, silence on Pisces Two-Seven.
After six decades strolling hand in hand,
A sorrowful parting sooner than planned.
When reflecting on Denny's legacy over the years,
Look beyond today's pain, sadness and tears.
Remember the person---husband, father, granddad---
And all the great memories that remain to be had.

Nancy and I were cheeerleaders together at Aldrich High School. We followed Denny in his many athletic endeavors. He was speedy as a track star and football. Golf was his true love besides Nancy, of course. As golfers, Bob and I couldn't come even close, but he was ever supportive and encouraging. A gentleman, always, dear friend, wonderful husband and father, grandfather. His passing is a terrible loss to all those who loved and admired him. Bob & Carol Marble

With Denny's passing the world has lost a true gentleman, a loving husband, father and grandfather, as well a wonderful friend to those who knew him. He willl be truly missed. As a military veteran, he was passionate about patriotism and devoted to the best interests of both those serving now and those who served in the past. He assisted numerous veterans as they transitioned back into civilian life and never hesitated to lend his personal time, wisdom, counsel and sound advice to help in those transitions.
We're sure that Saint Peter has uttered "All Hands On Deck" as he piped Denny aboard and welcomed him home. To our friend and his loving wife and family, we wish fair winds, smooth seas and peaceful sailing.

Denny Fish and I were close friends in Junior High and High School. We both played quarterback on the football team and he eventually became a Navy officer for a career and I joined the Army and remained there for 58 years. He and Nancy visite dHawaii many times and we were able to visit at the Hale Koa Hotel and share memories. Denny stayed in touch right to the end via Email and his loss hits all of us. My family extends sincere condolences to Nacy and her children and the entire Fish family.
