Graveside services for Mrs. Betty Louise Lyle will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 11am in Aiken Memorial Gardens. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to Aiken SPCA, 401 Wire Road, Aiken, SC, 29803 or Equine Rescue of Aiken, 532 Glenwood Dr. Aiken, SC 29803. Mrs. Lyle, 78 of Aiken, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at her residence. Born in Steward, TN, she was the daughter of the late Bryon Milford and Betty Gertrude Cruchter Champion. She moved to Aiken in 1962. She was a good cook, loved working in her yard, feeding the animals that came around the house and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW #5877, Aiken, and volunteered at the Senior Center. She raised goats and Boston Terriers. She worked at Barbin Furniture Store, and a Bar-b-que house. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband GC Lyle, son James Lyle. She is survived by her sons, Edward Lyle, Aiken, Coy Cheryl Lyle, North Augusta, daughter-in-law, Avis Lyle, Martinez, grandchildren, Paul Lyle, Lisa Woodward, Christopher Lyle, Stephen Lyle, and seven great grandchildren.
