I enjoyed working in the Reactor-Production Department with Kris during initial startup of the 'R' Reactor. He did a superb job in the Reactor Technology Department by insisting that the interface between Reactor Operators and the computer was straighforward and easily understood. This was a milestone in those days as the technical folks thought everyone should have to use a typewriter to "talk" with the computers.

Dear Carolyn,
It saddens our family to hear that Kris has passed away, but will no longer suffer the cruel disease of Alzheimer's. Please know that we are thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.

Carolyn and family
Kris was a great, true friend. We shared many interests over the 60 years I knew him. He taught me about classical music, how to mix Bondo for car body repair, what computers can do for you. We made countless trips to Silver Spring, MD working on the reactor simulator project in the 1980s. I tried to sit next to him on the plane so I could quiz him about all kinds of things. He always had the answers.
Sincerely,
Tom Gorrell

Sorry to hear about Kris's passing. He was a treat to work with in the new reactor group at the Savannah River Laboratory back in the late 1980's, and I enjoyed our discussions on cars, auto restoration and painting. Our condolences to his family.
