Mrs. Clarice H. Anderson West Columbia, SC-A memorial service for Mrs. Clarice H. Anderson will be held Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 2 PM at Aiken's First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Fred W. Andrea, III officiating. Mrs. Anderson, 91, of, West Columbia SC, and formerly of Aiken, SC, died, Friday, morning, January 27, 2006 at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, SC. Born in Griffin, GA, she was a daughter of the late Carl Dewitt and Ella Rebecca Kendrick Hatcher. Mrs. Anderson affectionately known as "The General" and "Grandma Cha-Cha," came to Aiken, SC 1952 and remained in Aiken until 2003. She was a very active member of Aiken's First Baptist Church where she was formerly organist and youth choir director, deacon and trustee where she was active in WMU, the Senior Adult Club and Choir, and was a Bible teacher for young women for many years. Mrs. Anderson retired from Palmetto Savings and Loan as a Treasurer in December of 1974 after over twenty years of service and for many years she served as organist and greeter at George Funeral Homes. She had previously help office in both the PTA and PTA Council, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce and the SC Governor's Commission on Charitable Organizations. She is survived by sons, Jerry C. Anderson, Jean Cooper Lake Hartwell, SC and J. Scott Anderson, Jane Weeks West Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Susan Anderson Gage, Scott Christi Anderson Hutto, Brian Jennifer Anderson Lea, Stephen and John C. Anderson, Kelly Anderson Greenwood and great-grandchildren, Scott Camp, Cason Lea, Cooper Hutto, Austin Lea, and Audrey Hutto. The family has requested that memorials be made to the Aiken's First Baptist Church Music Ministry, P.O. Box 3157, Aiken SC 29802
