May Gladys Raney, 92 , wife of the late Orvil Douglass Raney, died Tuesday, July 16 at her residence on York Street. Funeral services will be private. Mrs. Raney was born in Sharon, PA to William and Christine Cartwright, was a member of Vienna Presbyterian Church, Vienna, OH, a volunteer at the Duvall Home in FL and an avid reader. She moved to Aiken eight years ago from Warren, OH. Survivors include her son, William D. Raney, Orlando, FL, daughter; Carol Scott, Aiken, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family has requested that memorials be made to Hitchcock Hospice 690 Medical Park Drive, Aiken, SC 29801. George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave. SW, Aiken, SC.
