A memorial service will be held at a later date in Malvern, PA under the direction of Mauger-Givnish Funeral Home with entombment taking place in the Mausoleum of Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA. Mrs. Zimmerman, 85, of Aiken, SC, wife of the late Charles Craig Knight and the late Frederic Alan Zimmerman, died Thursday, morning, August 5, 2004 at Eden Gardens, Aiken, SC. Born in Narberth, PA, a daughter of the late Oliver John and Gladys Shaw Smith, she had been a resident of Malvern, PA for forty-seven years prior to coming to Aiken, SC, in 1999 when her health began to decline. She was a housewife, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Paoli, PA and spent many years and countless hours of her time as a volunteer with the Trading Post. Mrs. Zimmerman was a member of the Chester Valley Golf Club where she enjoyed golfing and playing bridge. A daughter, Carolyn and her husband, Bruce Hart, Aiken, SC; sister, Barbara S. and her husband, Donald Nauta, West Chester, PA; grandchildren, Evonnie and her husband, Scott Smith, Round Lake, IL and Capt. Daniel ''Dan'' and his wife Joanna Hart, Ft. Campbell, KY; great-grandchildren, Scott Alan Hart, Katelyn Michelle Hart, Attalie Renee Hart, Jedidiah Craig Hart, Corrissa Lauren Smith, and Dwight Harold Smith; sister-in-law, Dorothy and her husband Gene Rogers, WA; nieces, Peggy Johnson, FL, Marjorie Nauta, West Chester, PA and Connie Lamb, WA; and nephew, William Grunden, FL, survive. In addition to her parents and husbands, a sister, Dorothy Smith Grunden, also preceded her in death. At the request of the family, if so desired, please make memorials in memory of Mrs. Zimmerman to the Alzheimer?s Association, c/o the Council on Aging, P.O. Box 3156, Aiken, SC 29802.
