A Mass of Christian Burial for John Christopher Herndon will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday April 26, 2008 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Aiken. There will be no calling hours at the George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Memorial donations may be made to the Aiken County SPCA, 411 Wire Rd. Aiken, SC 29801. Mr. Herndon, 48, of Maiden, NC died on April 18, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Aiken and attended St. Mary Help of Christians School and St. Angela Academy in Aiken. He earned a BS degree in math and computer science from USC-Aiken and also received additional advanced technology degrees. He was a computer engineer for AgData, Agricultural Information. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying a myriad of activities including; enjoying golf, hunting, fishing, water-skiing and snow skiing. John was full of life and love. His priorities were his family and friends. A dedicated father, son & brother, he was always there with a smile, a hand and a laugh. John is survived by his daughter, Sarah Nason Herndon, Evansville, IN; two brothers, Richard Herndon, Tampa, FL and Dan Herndon and his wife, MC, League, TX; two sisters, Peggy Ashley And her husband Jim, Columbia, SC and Nancy Seddinger and her husband Billy, North Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great-nephews.
