Funeral Services for Mrs. Marquette S. Rollins will take place at The Chapel of George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 3pm with Pastor Thom Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1pm until the time of the service. Memorial donations, in her memory may be directed to The American Heart Association, 520 Gervais St, Suite 300, Columbia, SC 29201 Mrs. Rollins, 73, of Aiken, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at her residence. A daughter of the late Harvey Stoneking and Golda Gay Williams Stoneking, she was born in Charleston, WV and had lived in Glenville, WV before moving to Aiken in 1951. Before retiring in 1991, she had worked for over twenty years as a lab tech for Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site, but it was being a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother that defined her. She held the distinction of being the first female, school bus driver, starting in 1953 and she attended the New Ellenton Church of the Nazarene. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a baby brother, a sister; Lorgetha Keesecker and her daughter, Cheryl Merriett. Mrs. Rollins is survived by a son; Dewitt Andrea Rollins, Aiken and two daughters; Kay Kirkbride, Aiken and Brenda Gay Eddie Williams, Murrells Inlet, SC. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great, grandchildren.
