Memorial services for Mr. John Robert Wilson will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 1:00 pm at George Funeral Home, 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken. The service will be conducted by his friend Pastor Ken McDonald of the First Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the hour of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of your choice. Mr. Wilson, 63, of Aiken, died Sunday, March 16, 2008 at his residence. Born in Battle Creek, Michigan, he was the son of the late Phillip and Teresa Darmanin Wilson. He moved to Aiken in 2005 from Long Valley, NJ after retiring from Imperial Chemical Industries, where he had a 17 year career in the financial services department. John was a volunteer with the Symphony Guild and was a member of the board of the Aiken Performing Arts Jazz Group, involved in marketing activities. He taught a course in Finance at the University of South Carolina - Aiken. He loved to play golf and work with his model trains. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of forty one years, Carolyn Dopf Wilson, sons, John C. Deborah Wilson, Belvidere, NJ, James Wilson, Hackettstown, NJ, daughter, Lori Michael Gessner, Gilbert, AZ, brother, Robert Wilson, Florham Park, NJ, sister, Arlinee Kuderna, Hamden, CT, grandchildren Christopher Wilson, Joseph Gessner, and Lindsey Gessner.
