Funeral Services for Phillip M. New will be held Monday February 18, 2008 at 1: pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center 211 Park Avenue SW Aiken. Rev. David Laird will officiate and interment will follow in the Clearwater Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday 12noon until service time. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen VA, 23060. Mr. Phillip New, 76, of Aiken died Friday February 15, 2008 at his residence. Mr. New was born in Aiken, a son of the late John Wesley and Alma Mundy New. He lived in Aiken all his life, was an avid hunter, fisherman and very much loved gardening. He worked for the Aiken Electric Co-op as a highway crewman. and he was a member of the Clearwater Branch Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister Eunice Newman, and a brother Charlie W. New. He is survived by five sisters; Azilee Jackson, Aiken, Anne Davis, West Columbia, Betty N. Lewis, Aiken, Grace Day, Aiken, and Jean McNulty, Gilbert. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
