A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Poovey Glover will be celebrated on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 10am at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Christopher Glover, Travis Glover, Thomas Glover, Adam Glover, Matthew Glover, and Jonathan Glover. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 6-8pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church Building Fund, PO Box 439, Aiken, SC, 29802. Mrs. Glover, 79, of Aiken, died Monday, August 31, 2009 at her residence. Born in Hickory, NC, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Patty Ann Dennis Poovey. She had resided in Aiken for the past sixty years. She and her husband Tom owned and operated the "Big G" Nursery for over forty years. Nancy was a dedicated parishioner of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Willie Radar, brothers, Harold Poovey, and Melvin Poovey. Nancy is survived by her husband of sixty years, Thomas E. Glover, Sr., children, Ann G. Charles "Chick" Key, New Ellenton; Thomas E. Doris Glover, Jr., Williston; Michael S. Stephanie Glover, Aiken; Dennis Peggy Glover, Williston; Donald B. Beth Glover, Aiken; Jane G. Steve Vance, Aiken; Carl P. Glover, Aiken; brothers, Lamar Helen Poovey, Troy Marty Poovey, sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren.
