Funeral service for Mr. Woodrow Ouzts will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2008 in the chapel of George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken, with the Reverend Brancie Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and at other times at the residence of Pat and Tony Brewer in McCormick. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Millbrook Baptist Church, 176 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC 29803 in memory of Mr. Ouzts. Mr. Woodrow Ouzts, 89, of Aiken, died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood, SC. Born March 27, 1919 in Edgefield, SC, he was a son of the late James Jefferson Ouzts and the late Nettie Stephens Ouzts. Mr. Ouzts was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church, and the Bill Whalen Sunday School class. He was a United States Navy veteran, having served during World War II. Mr. Ouzts retired from B. E. & K. Construction and enjoyed camping and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Christine H. Ouzts of Aiken; a son, James B. Ouzts of Macon, GA; daughters, Patricia O. Brewer of McCormick, SC, and Ann Vanover of Augusta. 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive.
