A memorial service for Mrs. Brenda Willis Bodie will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 4pm at St. John's United Methodist Church in Aiken. The family will receive friends after the service in Ward Hall. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center is assisting the family. Mrs. Bodie, 55, of Aiken, SC passed away at home June 26, 2010. A lifelong resident of Aiken, Brenda was born on December 26, 1954, and the daughter of William Edward Willis and Betty Walker Willis of Aiken. Brenda was a graduate of the University of South Carolina at Aiken and held a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She was a retiree of the Aiken County Public School District where she taught kindergarten at Oakwood-Windsor Elementary School. She also taught at Mead Hall Episcopal School and Aiken's First Baptist Church Kindergarten. She was a fun loving person with a great since of humor who brought joy to those who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends who will all sincerely miss her. In addition to her parents, Brenda is survived by her husband of thirty five years, John Pinckney Bodie of Aiken; son, George Jason Bodie, daughter-in-law Hannah Brannon Bodie, and grandson, Henry William Bodie all of Mount Pleasant, SC. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard Edward Willis of Aiken, and George Michael Willis of Lexington, SC.
