A graveside funeral service for Miss Ann Davis Parker will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 2:00pm at Bethany Cemetery, Aiken with Revs. David Weaver and Davis McGuirt officiating. GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken is assisting the Parker family. Miss Parker, 70, native of Aiken, passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 after an extended illness. Ann was a graduate of Aiken High School, Sullins Junior College in Bristol, VA and received a B.A. degree from Brenau College in Gainesville, GA. Miss Parker taught physical education in Jacksonville, FL, Newport News, VA and Columbia, SC before joining the staff at Sea Pines Plantation on Hilton Head Island. She later started her own business, Ann Parker's Island Tour, Inc. Ann moved to Bluffton, SC and joined the Low Country Guild, Photography Division, where she produced products for Orvis & L. L. Bean. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. James Noland Parker Lidie and brother-in-law, Charles W. McGuirt. She is survived by her sister, Emily McGuirt, of Camden, SC; her nephews, John McGuirt, M.D. and Davis McGuirt, D.V.M, M.Div. and a niece, Joan McGuirt Khan, Ph.D. She is also survived by nine great nieces and nephews.
