Funeral services for Dorothy W. Reeves will take place on Monday December 29, 2003 at 2pm at Talatha Baptist Church with Rev. David Lester officiating. Pallbearers will be Noah Reeves, Dale Reeves, Jason Enevoldsen, Greg Williams, Gregory Williams and Sherman Reeves. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Talatha Baptist Church 361 Talatha Church Rd. Aiken, SC 29803. The family will receive friends at George Funeral Homes Southside Chapel 3175 Whiskey Rd. Aiken on Sunday from 6-8pm. Mrs. Reeves, 76, of Aiken, died December 25, 2003 at home under the care of Hitchcock Hospice and with her family by her side. She was born in Patrick County, VA and was one of fourteen children of Sherman A. and Eva Shehen White. Before moving to Aiken in 1951, she had lived in Richmond, VA. Mrs. Reeves was a homemaker, but had worked at Owens-Corning Fiberglass during the 1970?s and had also worked for DuPont at the Savannah River Site. She was a member of Talatha Baptist Church and had taught Sunday school there and at Millbrook Baptist Church for over 45 years. Mrs. Reeves was predeceased by a son, Dwight Wayne Reeves who died in 1990. She is survived by her husband; Sidney Reeves, Aiken, two sons; Claude Dale Reeves, Aiken and Arnold P. Reeves, Edgefield, a daughter; Silvia Williams, Graniteville, a brother; Robert White, VA and four sisters; Connie Hubbard, VA, Jean Babcock, VA, Joan Adams, VA and Gladys Robinson, VA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
