A Memorial service for Evelyn Verner will take place on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 3pm at the chapel of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. The family will receive friends, immediately after the service at the home of Whitney Ballinger. Mrs. Verner, 83, of Aiken, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Thomson Health & Rehab., Thomson, GA. A daughter of the late William Humphrey Owenby and Hattie Owenby , she was born in Turtletown, TN and had lived in Aiken since 1956, She attended the Augusta School of Cosmetology and had been a beautician at Alvanos, Beauty Salon and had also worked at Owens Corning Fiberglass and Graniteville Mills. She was a member of Highland Pines Baptist Church, Aiken. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clinton Verner. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Ballinger; a son, Bryce Verner; a brother, James Owenby; a sister, Linda Beaudin; four granddaughters, Shannon Gue, Whitney Ballinger, Jessica Verner & Serena Verner and seven, great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
