Mrs. Doris Lou Augustine, 86, of Aiken SC, passed away on Thursday, September 2 5, 2014. A Daughter of the late Thomas Elvin Stevens and Margaret (Marshall) Stevens, she was born in Chesterfield SC, but lived in Aiken her entire life. Mrs. Augustine was a retired machine operator. She dedicated over 20 years to the ASCO Company. Doris loved her flowers and would spend many hours tending to them. She enjoyed all animals. She cherished her family and grandchildren most of all. Survivors include her daughter; Margaret Augustine of Aiken SC, a son; Murl Augustine (Cindy) of New Ellington SC and a sister; Alice Fowler Blackburn of Aiken SC. Doris is also survived by her grandchildren Michael Augustine (Tanya) of Boston MA, Mandy Sims (Lee) of Aiken and Bobby Augustine, and Beth Augustine of Aiken, as well as her great grandchildren Alexis Augustine and Caitlyn Augustine of Mt. Pleasant SC, and Bailey Sims and Barret Sims of Aiken SC. She was predeceased by her husband of 32 years Francis Lee Augustine, brothers; Homer G Stevens, Bob Stevens, Elvin Stevens and sisters; Mary Lever, Ruby Holley, Johnnie Mae Stagner, and Sally Gaskin. Funeral services will be held at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken SC 29801 on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 4 PM with Reverend Keith Stewart officiating. A visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
