Karen has been a cornerstone of my life over the past 33 years. It's impossible to imagine that she won't call some day soon and leave a message in my voice mail starting with "Karen, this is Karen ..." She taught me much about exploring and enjoying life, and making the best of what can't be helped, no more so than during her last illness. My dear friend, when I travel abroad, attend a flower show, visit an art exhibit, a museum, or walk in the woods with a dog at my side, I'll enjoy it even more because we did those things together, and I'm doing it for you, too.
