Beatrice Efron Mink, age 87, departed this life on March 19, 2013. Born in Sparta, Illinois, Bea grew up in Aiken, South Carolina where she was the valedictorian of her high school class in 1942.
Bea was also a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she was Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Economics and a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi. Bea, and her late husband, Morris, owned family drug stores in Louisville, Ga. and later in Atlanta. In recent years, Bea called
Macon's Carlyle Place home where she shared her wit, wisdom and wonderful personality with her many friends. Bea was the daughter of the late Max and Theresa Efron of Aiken, S.C. and sister of
the late Julius M. Efron of Atlanta. Bea leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons: Carl Mink of Alachua, Florida; Lawrence Bernae Mink of Macon; and David Sharon Mink of Haifa, Israel.
Grandchildren are: Ariel Mink; Leah Arad Gigi; Noah Mink; Avital Mink; Brian Mink; and Masha Mink.
Sister-in-law Katharina Efron of Atlanta. Funeral services will be Friday, March 22, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Sons of Israel Cemetery in Aiken, South Carolina. Rabbi Larry Schlesinger of Temple Beth Israel
of Macon, Ga. will conduct the service. The family will greet friends at George Funeral Home at 10 a.m. The family requests that donations in Bea's memory be made to Temple Beth Israel, 892 Cherry Street,
Macon, Ga. 31201.
