Obituary of Julian Earl Young

AIKEN, SC - Julian Earl Young, Sr., age 89, went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 18, 2016 at his home with his family by his side.
Mr. Young was born in Orangeburg County, SC to the late William Carson Young and Victoria Jackson Young. He was a life-long resident of Aiken, SC. He spent his career as a building contractor in home construction. Before becoming a home contractor, he was well known as a skilled brick mason and carpenter. Mr. Young was honored as a hero during the 1950's historic Aiken Gas Explosion on Laurens St. in downtown.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Young was preceded in death by six brothers, William, Ernest, Norris, Marion, O'Neal, and J.C. Young; and a sister, Thelma Geisler.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Ann Young; and two sons, Allan Young, of Aiken, SC; and Julian Young (Loretta), Taylors, SC; a sister-in-law, Ruth Young, of Elko, SC; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his favorite girls, his puppies Zoe and Annie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Levels Baptist Church with Pastor Clint Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lukus Whisnant, Jeremy Poole, Fred Cota, David Eubanks, Justin Worthy, and Rusty Young.
