Obituary of Roger Edwin Worpell

AIKEN, SC – Roger Edwin Worpell, age 81, entered into rest Saturday, April 14, 2018.
Mr. Worpell was born August 1, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Henry and Wilemina Worpell. He was drafted into the US Army and received his Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Detroit. He spent his career as an engineer with Westinghouse. Mr. Worpell had been a resident of Aiken, SC for the past ten years, having previously lived in Los Angeles, CA. He was a member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church and enjoyed sports, playing golf, and coin collecting. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Worpell was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Worpell.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Elsie Worpell; a daughter, Donna Kessler (Greg), Aiken, SC; a son, Tom Worpell, Columbia, MD; and three grandchildren, Trenton, Craig, and Kyle.
A memorial service will be held at South Aiken Presbyterian Church, 1711 Whiskey Road, Aiken, SC 29803, Friday, April 20, 2018 at 11 AM.
