Funeral services for Mr. Clifford H. Dyer will be on Monday July 17, 2006 at 2pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center Chapel, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Billy Bishop, Rusty Bishop, Benny Kid, Bill Lynn, Darrell Richardson and Greg Ross. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1pm until the time of the service. Mr. Dyer, 84, of Aiken, died Friday July 14, 2006 at the Anne Marie Rehab and Nursing Center, North Augusta, SC. He was born in Maytown, KY and had lived in Pikeville, KY before moving to Aiken in 1952. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and had retired as a supervisor at the Dupont Corporation at the Savannah River Site. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dyer was predeceased by his wife Catherine Wofford, who died in 1993. Mr. Dyer is survived by two sons; Ronald Dyer and his wife Renee of Palm Harbor, FL and Gregory Dyer and his wife Marion of Aiken, two brothers, Joseph Dyer, Fayetteville, NC and Robert Dyer of Kentucky and a sister, Ruth Stewart, Asheville, NC. He is also survived by two grandchildren; Kaitlyn Dyer of Palm Harbor, FL and Christopher Dyer, Aiken, SC.
