Memorial services for Mr. Robert E. Morris, Sr. will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 11am at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken. Memorial contributions may be directed to Garden City Rescue Mission, 828 Fenwick St, Augusta, GA, 30901. Mr. Morris, 79, of Aiken, died Monday, August 4, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born Mt. Healthy, OH, he was the son of the late Paul E. and May Elizabeth Pipher Morris. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland. Robert served in the Korean War and Vietnam War and was a retired Lt. Colonel from the Army with twenty seven years of service to our country. He was a member of Beech Island Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret M. Morris. He is survived by his son Robert E. Morris, Jr., Christiansburg, VA, daughter, Jene Purdie, New Zealand, brothers, Melvin Morris, Dwight Morris, Donnie Morris, Pete Morris, John Morris, sister Helen Wilson, grandchildren, Kit Andrise, Christian Lucas, Jennifer Hanson, Brandon Morris, Matthew Morris, great grandchildren, Ethan Lucas, Kyler Lucas, Branwyn Hanson, Kaitlyn Lucas, and an extended family member, Anne Rogers.
