Mrs. Hilda R. Pownell, 83, of Aiken, SC, died Saturday, morning, January 14, 2006 at her home. Graveside services will be held at a later date in West Virginia. Born in Morgantown, WV, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Georgia Danks Britton. She came to Aiken, SC from Kyser, WV in 1980. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Cunningham, Warrenville, SC; sons, David Pownell, Warrenville, SC and Wesley Pownell, Aiken, SC; and grandchildren, Angel Woodward, Kymmi Cunningham, Teddi Godwin, and Wesley Pownell. The family has requested that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22176-7023
