A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mary McCormick Spainhour on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Church in St. Albans, WV. Interment will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, St. Albans, WV on Friday from 7-9pm. Mrs. Spainhour, 68, of Aiken, died Tuesday August 29, 2006 at Carriage Hills Life Center, Aiken. A daughter of the late Robert B. McCormick Sr. and Ethel Houser McCormick, she was born in Charleston, WV and had lived in Hatboro, PA before moving to Aiken in 1981. She was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Church, Aiken and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Knights of Columbus Msgr. George Lewis Smith Council #3684 in Aiken. An accomplished genealogist, Mary was an active member of the Daughters of The American Revolution.
In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her stepfather, Francis Salisbury; two brothers, James McCormick & Robert McCormick, Jr. and a son, John Andrew Spainhour. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Spainhour, Aiken, a son; C.J. Spainhour, Hoover, AL, a daughter; Debbie Pereira, North Stonington, CT and four grandchildren; Jonathan Andrew Heller, Michael Alan Heller, Bradley Joseph Spainhour and Kristina Marie Spainhour.
