Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie Johnson Cornwell will be held on Wednesday at 10:00am at Aiken Memorial Gardens with Dr. Rev. Fred Andrea, III officiating. The family will receive friends at Mrs. Cornwell?s residence; today from 3-7pm. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-8pm at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Memorial donations may be directed to Aiken?s First Baptist Church, 120 Chesterfield St. NE Aiken, 29801. Mrs. Cornwell, 92, of Aiken, died Sunday, October 3, 2004 at her residence. She was a life long resident of Aiken County and a member of Aiken?s First Baptist Church. Over the years she had sung in the church choir, taught Sunday school and had been a member of the Women?s Missionary Circle. She served her community as a ?Pink Lady?, volunteering at Aiken Regional Medical Centers for over forty years and had been recognized for serving over thirteen thousand hours and was named ?Volunteer of the Year? in 1989 She was predeceased by her husband; Charles E. Cornwell, Jr. 1981 and her daughter; B. Janet Cornwell, 2000. She is survived by her sister; Dorothy ?Dot? Morrell, Aiken and several nieces and nephews.
