A funeral mass for Mr. August John "Jack" Jernberg will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society 128 Stonemark Lane Columbia, SC 29215-1790 or to St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church Building Fund PO Box 438, Aiken SC 29802. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. . Mr. Jernberg, 84, of Aiken, died Friday June 8, 2007 at the Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in Indiana Harbor, IN, he was a son of the late August and Florence Hannan Jernberg. He graduated from Hammond, IN High School. He served his country during WWII in the United States Army Signal Corps, attached to the Air Force. He was a Tool and Die Machinist for the Ducane Company for over forty years. He was a member of the St. Mary Help of Christian's Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3684, Aiken. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Grace Jernberg, five daughters; Patricia Roger Schlegel, Mt. Pleasant , SC, Judy Jerry Renbarger, Augusta, GA, Kathryn Jernberg, Newark, DE, Chris Helton, Aiken, SC and Margaret Jernberg, North Augusta, SC and one sister; Marilynn Knauss, Mesa, AZ. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three nephews
