Al and I have been neighbors with Virginia since 1956. She had more than her share of adversity but remained a gracious lady. She had many stories to tell of her life before coming to Aiken. I wish she had written a book. She would have many more stories of her life in Aiken. Al and Beth Skinner

Before moving to Simpsonville, Virginia and I had weekly dates to go to the movies and spent many happy hours together. We also enjoyed eating out and she always had interesting stories to tell about her childhood. She had so much courage in the face of much adversity in her life and certainly was an inspiration to all.

Virginia was a very nice lady, witty, and intelligent, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. We have special memories of times spent with her in Aiken as well as a visit she made to Anderson to see us. Our sympathies to the boys--we know how special you were to your Great Grandmother and her desire for you to be fine young men. She and my husband, Gene Baillie, were second cousins and he got to visit her several times over the last year.
