Dear Mary, Laura and Robert,
We were so sorry to hear of Marvin's passing. We are incredibly grateful that we had stopped in Aiken for a short visit several years ago. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies to your family on the loss of Marvin. I, too, had the pleasure of knowing him when he lived in Athens, Ohio. There were many times I got to act side by side with Marvin and I think my favorite will always be his Ziegfield to my Brice.
A spotlight has grown dim on this stage, but there is another that is brighter than bright and where there is always thunderous applause! And in my heart, that is where you'll be, my friend, perhaps someday, to meet again.

Dearest Mary, Robert and Laura-I am still unable to believe the news about sweet Marvin; Robert, thank you for getting in touch with friends in Athens. I am crying and smiling, smiling and crying over memories and I am fortunate to possess those! Marvin's presence in the halls of WOUB will always be; his laugh continues to echo and the snack cake in his shirt pocket is predictable. With love, Annie Kyle

I'm so sorry to hear of Marvin's passing. I had the great pleasure of working with him at WOUB around 98-99 as the public info. director. I can picture Marvin like it was yesterday. He always had such happy wit and a smile. I remember him always using his hands when he talked. And he always had a joke to tell. He also remembered me whenever I would see him after I had moved on to work in another area of campus. He was truly a sweet spirit and I'm so grateful that I knew him. Best and warmest wishes to all family and friends.

Dear Mary, Laura, and Robert,
Words are inadequate to express my heart felt sympathy for your great loss. Marvin was a wonderful, talented, man, with a great sense of humor, who devotedly loved and was equally loved by his wife, children, family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

Of actors who have worked with me, Marvin always made the most of whatever role he was given; and he did so with a twinkle in his eye and a dry sense of humor that belied his humility. I shall miss him deeply

Marvin was the best boss I ever had. I remember that Marvin would make his rounds every day, sometimes twice - once in the morning and once in the afternoon. I knew if I ever needed to speak with him, he would eventually come walking through my door. I learned a lot from Marvin and now that I am a supervisor, I try to emulate his management style. Thank you, Marvin. You will be missed.

Marvin was the perfect boss for me at just the right time. A really nice guy. I have thought of him often and have many fond memories. Even after I moved on, and later, when he retired, I looked forward to emails and photos from him about his travels.

Marvin was a great man in many ways. He was learned, but not arrogant. He was kind and considerate, but not a person to fake flattery. And he was a truly funny person, finding laughter and joy with others who were fortunate to have known him. A good teacher and a good friend, Marvin Bowman will be missed.

Mary,
This news is devastating. Marvin was a wonderful man and a good friend to many. He was special to his classmates in CHS 57 because of his humor and wit tempered by his wisdom and love. Our loss is profound. You have my deepest sympathy.
