Mrs. Eunice Brown Hawkins, 99, of Aiken, went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 30, 2017. Private graveside services were held in Aiken Memorial Gardens beside her beloved husband Alvin H. Hawkins, Sr. Mrs. Hawkins was born Jun 9th, 1918 in Greenville County, SC, a daughter of the late Lemuel Irvin and Minnie Smith Brown. She had resided in Aiken since 1942 and was employed by the United States Postal Service. Eunice worked as a postal clerk in both the old Aiken Post Office and the present Post Office until her retirement in 1978. Eunice was a member of Aiken's First Baptist Church and the Barbara Smith Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Betty Jean Hightower, her son, Alvin H Hawkins, Jr., a brother, John H. Brown, sisters, Minnie Lee Southall and Erlene Langley Hannon and her son-in-law, Arthur Allen Hightower. Survivors include, 2 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren, and 1 great great great grandchild.
