Obituary of Michael Lewis Hurley

TRENTON, SC -- Mr. Michael Lewis Hurley, of Trenton, South Carolina, born on August 26, 1951 in Troy, New York, to the late Lois M. Hurley and the late Joseph M. Hurley, passed away at age 66 on July 19, 2018 in Augusta, Georgia.  

Michael grew up in Mechanicville and Rye, New York.  He graduated from Clarkson University in 1972 and Stepinac High School.  Until retiring in 2016, he was a North American Sales Manager at Amphenol Aerospace. Michael was the loving husband of Jeanne Clavel.  

He is survived by his daughters, Erin Hurley of Columbia, South Carolina and Kristen and son-in-law, A.J. Kramer of Fayetteville, North Carolina; stepdaughter, Solène Clavel of Trenton, South Carolina, brother, Patrick (Sharon) Hurley of Harrison, New York; sisters, Maureen Milet (Eric) of Rye, New York and Kathleen (Michael) Sparanese of Harrison, New York; grandchild, Ayden Gutierrez of Columbia, South Carolina and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Michael was an avid golfer, hockey enthusiast, loved aviation, spending time with his grandson, Ayden, dancing to beach music (“Shagging"), travelling with Jeanne, volunteering for the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Aiken, South Carolina and the Women’s Shelter in Columbia, South Carolina, and the camaraderie and cuisine of the "Gourmet Club."   He was an active member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken, SC Friends and family may attend the Requiem Mass which will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the new parish of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 138 Fairfield St. SE, Aiken, SC 29801. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
