Elfriede Vögele George, a resident of Aiken, entered into eternal rest on June 13th, 2016. Elfriede was born in Schöneberg (Bavaria) Germany on July 1st, 1930. She immigrated to the United States in 1953 and settled in Cincinnati Ohio where she met her future husband Donald Kirklin George at the University of Cincinnati. In 1956 Elfriede married Don in Baltimore Maryland. In 1979 Elfriede and Don started George Disposables, Inc., a personal care products and machinery manufacturing business located in West Columbia SC where she served as Vice-President and Secretary-Treasurer. In addition to her corporate duties, Elfriede helped to develop several key core products that were manufactured by George Disposables. Elfriede never forgot her native country and returned to visit her beloved Germany every year to see family and friends and keep in contact with her European roots. Over the years, she remained a true partner to her one and only love Don and was a wonderful and loving mother. Elfriede was an avid bridge player and loved to entertain her friends and family. She loved celebrating Christmas and other Holidays and she was generous in her support of charitable organizations for the less fortunate. She is survived by her beloved husband Donald Kirklin George and her loving son Charles Anton George. A memorial gathering will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Chapel of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, located at 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity in her honor.
