Funeral services for Dewey Ennis, 72, of Aiken, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Chapel of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. Officiating will be Rev. Carl Hayes and Frank Shiver. Burial will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive at the home of Shirley and Mac.
Mr. Ennis, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 25, 2014, at his sisters residence, where he had lived and was cared for the past two months. He was a son of the late John and Evelyn Hutto Ennis. Dewey was a lifelong resident of Aiken where he was known for his love of Jesus. He was the founder and previous owner of Ennis Tree Service for 35 years. Dewey loved and lived for the Lord all his life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. God welcomed another angel home on Christmas Day. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carlton Ennis.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Ennis of Aiken; a daughter, Beverly Griggs (Larry Kouns) of Myrtle Beach; a son, Chad Ennis of Graniteville; sisters, Shirley LaBorde (Mac) of Aiken and Linda Prince of Warrenville; brothers, David Ennis (Annette) and Larry Ennis (Gloria), both of Aiken. 2 grandchildren, Dewey Brunson of Myrtle Beach and David Brunson III of N. Augusta and 5 great-grandchildren.
