Funeral services for Mr.James Edward Morris will be held Friday, August 30, 2002 at 2 PM at South Aiken Church of God with Pastor Bruce Fox and Pastor W.H. Bryant officiating. Interment with full military honors accorded by the United States Marine Corps honor guard will follow in Vaucluse Cemetery, Vaucluse, SC. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 30, 2002 from 6?8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Morris, 71, of Aiken, SC, husband of Mrs. Hisae ?Kimmy? Morris, died Tuesday, night, August 27, 2002 at his home.
Born in Augusta, GA, a son of the late Otis Lenwood Morris and the late Viola Steele Morris, he had lived in Aiken, SC, since 1973, where he formerly owned Morris Front End Shop. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps where he retried after twenty-three years of service with the rank of Master Sergeant and was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. A devoted Christian, he was a member of South Aiken Church of God and along with his sons, formed the Morris Family Singers and spread the word of the Lord throughout the southeast at various churches through music.
Surviving is his wife of forty years, Mrs. Hisae ?Kimmy? Morris, sons, James Otis Morris, North Augusta, SC, William Lenwood Morris, Aiken, SC, and Sam Frank Morris, North Augusta, SC; and grandsons, James Adam Morris, Samuel Austin Morris, Devin Bryce Morris, and Jacob Alston Morris.
The family has suggested that memorials in memory of Mr. Morris be made to South Aiken Church of God.
