AIKEN, SC - Michael Tufts, age 63, entered into rest on Friday, March 31, 2017. Mike, as he was affectionately known, was born December 28, 1953 in Smithers, WV to the late Bernard C. Tufts, Sr. and the late Mamie D. Tufts. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force where he was an M.P. Mike was passionate about music and loved to play the guitar and especially the drums. He was an avid fisherman, a great mentor to his family and friends, and a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri Nicole Bennett; and two brothers, Charles Perry (Pat) and Donald Ray Tufts (Linda). He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Carol Tufts; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Tufts (Martin), Aiken, SC; two sons, Michael Dickerson (Shannon), Mt. Lookout, WV and Jason Michael Tufts (Sama), Aiken, SC; six grandchildren, Logan, Taylor, Javin, Myla, Jeremiah, and Owen; three sisters, Beth Girolamo, Aiken, SC, Rebecca Rogers (JR), Deepwater, WV, and Debbie Holley, Beech Island, SC; and a brother, Bernard C. Tufts, Jr, Lancaster, OH. The family will receive friends at Cedar Creek Church, Banks Mill Campus, beginning at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 with a funeral service being held at 4:30 PM. Pastor Phillip Lee will officiate. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Burt Raburn, Steve Craig, Martin Duncan, Ben Holley, Walt Kahres, and Michael Harrah. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Howard, Byron Wright, Steve Jordan, and Randall Griffith.
