A Memorial Mass for Marjorie Bernice Monks will be celebrated on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 11:30am at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Interment will take place in Troy Michigan at a later date. George Funeral Home and Cremation Center 211 Park Avenue, Aiken is assisting the family. Mrs. Monks, 91, of Aiken died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Cumberland Hills Retirement Home, in Aiken. Born in Kansas City, MO, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret Orbach French. She was married to Harvey James Monks who predeceased her in 1983. She moved to Aiken in October of 1999 and was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. She was a home maker and a mom. In addition to her parents and her husband she was also predeceased by two sons; James Harvey Monks and Timothy Lee Monks as a well as her sister Helen Rodney. Marjorie is survived by her two daughters; Margaret McClure of Raleigh, NC, and Patricia J. Walter Allen of Aiken and by six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
