Obituary of Niza L. Karpodinis

Niza Lopez Karpodinis, 92, died peacefully at Shadow Oaks Assisted Living Center Sunday morning. She was born November 20, 1919, one of twelve children. She was the beloved wife of George D. Karpodinis. She resided in Daytona Beach, Florida until moving to Aiken, South Carolina four years ago to be with her daughter.
She had a career with Pan Am Airways in Venezuela before her marriage. Niza was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother and a caring and generous friend to many. She was an active member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and served as a past president of the Philoptochos Society.
Niza was predeceased by her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Liz Stewart Ray Jewell of Aiken, SC, her son, George D. Karpodinis, Jr. Pam Sullivan of New York City, her sister, Margaret Lopez of Oregon, an especially close niece, Virginia Kuck of California as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 2pm in Daytona Beach, Florida as she is laid to rest beside her husband.
