Funeral services for Mr. Wilbur Ocie Cook will be held Saturday, June 18, 2005 at 2 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken, SC, with Pastor Willie Diggs officiating. Interment will follow in Merritts Bridge Christian Church Cemetery, Aiken, SC. The family will receive friends Friday, June 17, 2005 from 6-8 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC. Mr. Cook, 84, of Belvedere, SC, died Tuesday, afternoon, June 14, 2005 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. Born in and a resident of Aiken County, SC, most of his life, Mr. Cook retired from Graniteville Company where he was a watchman and was also a farmer. He was a son of the late Charlie and Missouri Goldman Cook. He is survived by sons, John W. Cook, Hixson, TN and Joseph W. Cook, Osgood, IN; daughter, Mae Rice, Edgefield, SC; sister, Pliney Seigler, Aiken, SC; eleven grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
