Jeane Maree (G-Ma) Cook Hall, widow of Douglas R. Hall, Sr., died on Sunday, July 23, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Hall was born in Atlanta, Ga. on May 22, 1928. She later moved to Aiken County with her parents, Acle E. Cook, Sr. and Hazel P. Johnson Cook, who were natives of Aiken County, South Carolina. In addition to her parents and husband of 37 years, she was preceded in death by brothers Acle, Jr., Arlen, Lanny, and Chan Cook; sisters Stella Yon, Sharon Griffin, and Karen Kyzer; step-son Tony L. Hall, and beloved grandson, Michael Douglas Flynn. She is survived by daughters Debbie (Warren) Hall Gallemore (High Point, NC), Sherry Hall Flynn (Susan Dodd) (North Augusta), and Lisa Jeane Hall (Vaucluse, SC); son, Douglas R. (Marie) Hall, Jr. (Aiken, SC); grandsons Tommy (Katherine) Flynn (Lexington, SC), John (Corie) Gallemore (Chicago, Ill.), David (Skylar) Gallemore (Creedmoor, NC), Michael (Morgan) Gallemore (Rock Hill, SC) and Douglas R. (Rebecca) Hall, III (Graniteville, SC); granddaughters, Dee Dee (Bryan) Redd (Aiken, SC) and Dana (Robert) Ergle (Aiken, SC); great-grandsons Peyton, Preston and Paxton Ergle, Dylan, Aidan and James Flynn, and Tyler Cornwell and Chase Redd; great-granddaughters, Claire and Cate Gallemore and Paisley Rae Hall; step-granddaughter Jordan Johnson; and step-grandson Tony Jarrett (Greensboro, NC). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her numerous friends at the Windham House, in Aiken, and those on Facebook (G-ma loved Facebook). G-Ma loved all her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her great-grands. She loved her church, and her Pastor, Dr. Fred Andrea, and enjoyed going to church, when health permitted. Memorial service will be held at the Aiken First Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 10:00 am with Dr. Fred W. Andrea III presiding. A private family burial will be held at Aiken Memorial Gardens prior to the memorial service. Mrs. Hall was a member of Aiken First Baptist Church and of the Truth Seekers Bible Study Class. She was the Aiken Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year in 1974, and received a Civic Leaders of America Award that same year. She was a former chairman of the Governor's Beautification and Community Improvement Committee representing Aiken County. She was a past president of the Evergreen and Wildwood Garden Clubs, and the Aiken Garden Club Council. She was a former reporter for the Aiken Standard Newspaper and columnist for the Augusta Chronicle Newspaper.
