Funeral services for Mrs. Sue Gilmer will be held today, Saturday June 19, 2010 at 11am at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken with Rev. Rodney Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10am until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be directed to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 2724 Whiskey Rd. Aiken, SC 29803. Mrs. Gilmer, 91, of Aiken, died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at her residence. A daughter of the late Will and Amelia Whiteside Brown, she was born in Aetna, TN and had lived in Aiken since 1951. She was a housewife and a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband of over seventy four years, Woodrow "Woody" Gilmer, Aiken and three daughters; Patricia Ann Adams, Anderson, SC, Hydee Decker, Union, SC and Sandra Topp, Driggs, ID. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
