AIKEN, SC- William A. "Bill" Driver, age 66, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his family on Saturday, August 8, 2015.
Bill was born September 24, 1948 in Byrdstown, TN to the late Robert and Gladys Nicholas Driver. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Driver. He proudly served his country in the US Navy on the coast of Vietnam. He retired after 36 years of service from Bechtel Corporation. Bill was a Past Master of Acacia Lodge #315 AFM in North Augusta, a KYCH, a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason and Noble of the Jamil Shrine Temple. Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gloria Hurst Driver; two daughters, Andrea Westberry and Cynthia (Thomas) Franklin, both of Aiken, SC; five grandchildren, Emily Jean Westberry, Jessica Lynn Westberry, Fredrick Thomas Franklin, Rebecca Lynne Franklin, Luke William Franklin; a brother Michael (Kathie) Driver, Hixson, TN; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in the George Funeral Chapel. Pastor Mark Canipe will officiate. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery with Masonic Rites and Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Brandon Brown, Michael Driver, Jonathan Driver, Gary Hinson, James Hurst, Nicholas Hurst, Timothy Janusz, Ryan Madden, Neil White, and Fredrick Franklin. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Acacia Lodge and Nobles of Jamil Temple
