Ned Franklin Peterson, beloved husband of Marge Peterson of 62 years, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the age of 82. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church, under the care of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME.
Born in Sugar City, Colorado, he was a son of the late Glenn and Hazel Naomi Burrey Peterson. Ned moved to Casper, Wyoming when he was 10 months old. He graduated in 1952 from Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyoming then attended Casper Junior College and the University of Wyoming. Ned was a US Army Veteran and served his country from 1953-1955. He retired after 22 years as a Automotive Technician Instructor in Gilroy, California. Ned and Marge moved to Aiken, in 2005. He is a member of the Aiken Wood Carvers Club. He was a master carver of cowboy caricatures and birds. He was an avid outdoor sportsman with fishing and hunting as his passion. He was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Downey.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marge Peterson of Aiken; 3 sons, Terry Peterson (Judy) of Aiken, Dennis Peterson of Aiken and Mike Peterson (Margene) of Gilroy, California; 6 grandchildren, Shelly Dowse of Douglas, Wyoming, Joshua Peterson of Walcott Junction, Wyoming, Beau Peterson of Sheridan, Wyoming, Amisty Peterson of Keller, Texas, Cristi McGill of Sheridan, Wyoming and Melissa Peterson of Gilroy, California; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
